The interface
The top bar, the side rail, windows, the right-click menu and map modes. The map fills the screen and everything else sits around it. Nothing pauses the game while a window is open: time only moves when you end the week.
The top bar
Your flag and name open your nation's overview. Each figure after it opens the window that manages it, and hovering one shows where it comes from and where it goes. On the right are the notifications, the calendar of everything announced, the time controls and Next week.
The side rail
The column of icons along the bottom of the screen opens the game's windows. Each has a key, shown when you hover it.

Selecting things
Click a province to open its card on the right: who owns it, what it produces and what you can do there. The card has a tab for the country as well. Right-click opens a menu of everything you can do on that spot, the same actions as the card, grouped.
Map modes
The same map can show different things. Switch with the keys below or the button in the bottom-right corner.
| Key | Mode | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Political | Who owns what, in each country’s colour. Occupied land is hatched in the occupier’s colour. |
| 2 | Terrain | Plains, forests, hills, mountains, deserts, marsh, jungle and cities: where armies are slow and defenders strong. |
| 3 | Population | Where people live, and so where manpower and taxes come from. |
| 4 | Development | How rich each province is. Development raises output and the army’s quality. |
| 5 | Military | Armies and fronts stand out over a quiet map. |
| 6 | Diplomacy | Every country coloured by its relations with you, or with the country you select. |
| 7 | Blocs | Each bloc in its colour. Click a bloc in the legend to see only its members. |
